Most Common Causes:

  • Clogged Sprinkler heads: Sometimes dirt and water combine to gunk up your sprinkler heads. When the debris is too thick, it’ll stop water from getting through. To fix a clogged sprinkler head, you need to make sure the water’s off and remove the nozzle and sprinkler from the head. Clean out the filter and then reposition it on the nozzle. You should be good to go.
  • Timer Is Not Working Properly: Problems with controllers and timers are fairly common. If you’re having issues, one thing you can try is adjusting the switch adjustment screw clockwise to get it activating sooner, and counterclockwise for later. If it starts working, great, but if that doesn’t solve the problem then you are probably better off calling in a professional to help.
  • Buzzing Noises from Your Pump: If you are starting to hear buzzing sounds coming from your water pump, then it’s likely time for a replacement. Pumps last years, but not forever. Keeping an eye on salt levels will help extend its lifespan. Ultimately, when a pump starts going downhill, you’ll need to think about a replacement.
