We Find the Real Source of Your Attic Problem
Our Diagnostic Process
We perform one of the most thorough post–spray-foam diagnostic evaluations in the industry. Instead of relying on visual guesses or assumptions, our technicians use scientific measurement tools to uncover every issue hidden inside your attic. Whether the problem is moisture, poor sealing, incorrect curing, or temperature imbalance, our process is designed to pinpoint the exact cause so you get a repair plan that actually works.
Our diagnostic process includes:
• Full visual inspection of spray foam coverage: We carefully examine every inch of the foam to identify thin spots, voids, cracks, overspray, and separation from the roof deck or framing.
• Moisture meter readings on wood framing: This allows us to detect active moisture inside rafters, joists, and roof decking that is not visible to the naked eye.
• Thermal imaging to detect cold air intrusion: Using a thermal camera, we identify areas where outside air is leaking through improper foam application or hidden gaps.
• Humidity and temperature logging: We measure the attic’s internal climate to determine if it is functioning as a true conditioned space or if it is holding excess moisture.
• Airflow testing to identify attic pressurization issues: Pressure imbalances can trap humidity, force conditioned air into the wrong places, and cause your HVAC system to work harder.
• Roofline and penetration mapping: We trace areas where plumbing vents, electrical lines, and roof penetrations may be allowing unconditioned air to enter the attic.
• Mold identification and moisture source tracing: If mold is present, we locate its origin and track how moisture is moving through the structure so it can be fully eliminated.
Once all data is collected, we compile the findings into a clear, easy-to-understand action plan. Our goal is to restore your attic to a dry, healthy, balanced, and safe condition that performs the way spray foam insulation is meant to.
| Florida Diagnostic Step | What We Look For |
|---|---|
| Thermal "Heat Load" Imaging | We don't just look for cold spots; in Florida, we look for heat. We use thermal cameras to detect solar radiation penetrating the roof deck where foam is too thin, causing your attic to bake. |
| Structural Moisture Mapping | Florida's humidity can become trapped behind the foam. We probe rafters and trusses with moisture meters to detect invisible "sweating" (condensation) that rots wood from the inside out. |
| Attic "Swamp" Analysis | We log humidity and temperature over time to see if your attic is holding excess moisture. If the air feels "heavy" or swampy, the spray foam envelope isn't breathing correctly with your AC system. |
| Pressure & Airflow Testing | Leaky ducts in a sealed attic can create negative pressure, sucking humid outdoor air in through tiny gaps. We test airflow to ensure your HVAC isn't fighting against the insulation. |
| Mold Source Tracing | If we find mold, we track the source. Whether it's a roof leak masked by foam or internal condensation, we identify exactly how moisture is feeding the growth in the warm climate. |
